2010 ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM of the AVS NEW ENGLAND CHAPTER

    The Symposium will include Technical Sessions, poster session, and the Manufacturers' Exhibit.     


The Exhibits will be open from 11 AM to 7 PM on Monday. The exhibit hours are designed to encourage and facilitate greater interaction between vendors and attendees.
 Registration is $15 ($10 for students) $20 at the door for all events. (paypal coming)
Meals and Drawing: As is customary with the Symposium Exhibition, THE DINNER BUFFET will be held between 5 and 7 PM on Monday.   We will also provide a luncheon Monday.  A drawing for TBD will take place at the Dinner

The conference organizers solicited abstracts for talks and posters for presentation at the June 7,2010 meeting. The following areas are of specific interest:

·             Mass spectrometry and electron spectroscopy

·             Heterogeneous catalysis

·             Characterization of nanoscale materials

·             Electronic materials – both inorganic and organic

·             Surface science of metal oxides

·             Polymer interfaces

·             Carbon-based materials

·             Vacuum Technology

The organizers of the conference welcomed participation by industry, academia and national laboratories. Registration for the conference will be open soon.

 


The AVS Science and Technology of Materials, Interfaces and Processing, New England Chapter includes Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. The AVS/NE is a non-profit volunteer-based organization dedicated to advancing the science and technology of vacuum, materials, surfaces, interfaces, thin films and plasmas.  We promote communication, the dissemination of knowledge, recommended practices, research, and education in the use of vacuum and other environments to develop new materials, process technology, and a better understanding of material properties for the benefit of society.  

The AVS is an affiliated organization of the American Institute of Physics.
